A.R.I.A.A — Automated Routing, Impedance, and Assembly Assistant

Using AI to train neural networks that assist with routing, impedance matching, and assembly of PCBs inside KiCAD.

  • Built a pipeline to parse datasheets (largely PDFs) and organize wiring/netlist data for model training.
  • Sourced and organized freely available gerber files, KiCAD projects, and schematics to train the model.
  • Collaborated with a team of three interns plus a mentor toward shared milestones.
August 2024 – May 2025

A.R.G.H. — Advanced Recognition of Gestures of the Hand

Year-long senior design project: a wearable that recognizes hand gestures in real time on an ESP32.

  • Trained a 1D-CNN in TensorFlow/Keras and quantized it to INT8 with TFLite to run entirely on-device.
  • Implemented a Madgwick AHRS filter to turn raw IMU data into stable orientation estimates.
  • Wrote firmware in C on ESP-IDF with FreeRTOS tasks handling I²C sampling, inference, and comms in parallel.
  • Coordinated with a long-term team to integrate subsystems and keep documentation in sync.
2025 – Present

P.R.I.S.M. — Portable Radio Instrument for Signal Monitoring

Personal dive into RF and signal processing: low-cost SDR hardware and an FPGA, capturing and pulling apart real signals over the air.

  • Evaluated hardware options (LMS7002M / LimeSDR transceiver, Zynq-7000 FPGA family) balancing performance, versatility, and cost.
  • Designed power, data, and RF schematics in KiCAD from public datasheets.
  • Hand-routed and impedance-matched RF traces in the PCB layout.

A home server stack used daily and as a sandbox for Linux administration and networking.

  • Manages services, storage, and backups from the CLI.
  • Configured VLANs, firewall rules, and remote access.
